The 4th ProSES Symposium will be held on 3rd September 2025 with the theme of "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Innovations and Challenges in Process Industries". It is a biennial conference organized by the Process Systems Engineering & Safety (ProSES) Research Group under the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah, Malaysia. Since its inception, the symposium has consistently provided a pivotal platform for innovation and collaboration between local and global researchers and industry experts. The inaugural event was held in 2019, followed by successful editions in 2021 and 2023.

The 4th ProSES Symposium aims to:

  1. Promote the development and application of innovative AI-driven solutions in the process industries.
  2. Addresses the challenges in modeling, simulation, process optimization, and control in various industries such as oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, mining and energy production.
  3. Foster interdisciplinary research and collaboration to solve real-world industrial problems.
  4. Inspire sustainable advancements in resource efficiency, energy conservation, and safety in engineering practices.
  5. Emphasis the sustainable development goals applicable to the process industries

This symposium also focuses on the intersection of AI and Process Systems Engineering (PSE) that will provide a unique opportunity to:

  1. Showcase innovative tools and techniques that will enhance efficiency and safety in process systems.
  2. Discuss multidisciplinary achievements that contribute to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Explore the potential of AI in transforming traditional practices applied in chemical, biological, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, and mineral industries.
